Dr. Denise Green
Dr. Denise Green attended Antioch College Yellow Springs, Ohio. She obtained her BA in Liberal Arts in1984. She always had a passion for medicine as a young child. She realized she had to pursue a career in medicine. As a result, She took the necessary required pre-medical courses.
Prior to beginning her medical school program, she was an Instructor in Neurodiagnostic Testing at UCLA, Sleep-Lab Manager at Stanford University Hospital, and a member of a "open-Heart Surgery Team".
All of those experiences influenced her desire for a career in medicine. She attended medical school from 1986-1990 at the Autonomous University School of Medicine in Guadalajara Mexico. She received her MD in 1990. This was a humbling experience personally and professionally.
As a result, she became bi-lingual in Spanish. This increased her sensitivity to the Hispanic Culture. This proved to be an asset in her career. During this time, she was fascinated with Folk Medicine and different forms of healing. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. She received her diploma from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
She continued to be interested through her residency in Holistic/Alternative Medicine. She pursued a Post-Graduate Program in Holistic/Nutritional Medicine. This included Chinese Herbal Medicine and Health Promotion. It was at this time, she encountered a physician who owned an Urgent Care. He became her mentor. Shortly after a while she became the co-owner. She managed and marketed the practice and it grew. She devoted time to developing Health/Wellness programs for the city, their patients, and the community.
A program on "Aging Gracefully" was introduced to the senior center and Hispanic senior center. Presently, she is self-employed. She's been in practice for 15 years. She has committed her professional career toward teaching Nutritional counseling/weight-loss, detoxification, hormonal balance, and stress management.
